Stories from the City: Caitlin Rawlins

S&C is proud to share Portsmouth City Council’s Stories from the City project, which aims to ‘celebrate the people behind Portsmouth’s vibrant voluntary and community sector – one story at a time.’

Caitlin Rawlins, volunteer for the The Royal British Legion

‘I was inspired by my grandad to fundraise. I started by raising money for the Poppy Appeal during my break at school. I raised £322.76. My challenge at the moment is doing as many runs to make as much money as I can.’

Stories from the City runs on Instagram at @hivestories, and each post showcases one of the many local people and voluntary organisations working tirelessly in the city to support our local community.

At S&C, we are always proud to share the hard work of local people who give their time and energy to make Portsmouth a better place for everyone. At a time when it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by and disengaged from local and national politics, these stories remind us of the power we all have to change the world around us – one person at a time.

You can follow Stories from the City on Instagram and get in touch with the team to suggest an individual who could feature by email on voluntary.sector@portsmouthcc.gov.uk or call 023 9283 4518.
