Think Tank: The Podcast Part I

Back in April, stand up comedian Joe Wells wrote about what motivated him to create a new series of live political comedy shows called Think Tank.

If you missed it, fear not, because Joe has kindly allowed us to share the podcast with you.

The first Think Tank took place before the General Election at the Square Tower, bringing together parliamentary candidates John Ferrett (Labour), Tim Dawes (Greens) and Flick Drummond (Conservative and now the MP for Portsmouth South) with stand up comedians Grainne Maguire, Gareth Richards and Andrew O’Neill.

Here are just some observations from the night, but for the full flavour of Think Tank, get listening to the whole podcast.

The next Think Tank is coming up on 8th October at the Wedgewood Rooms and is on the subject of health. It will feature an expert panel comprising Keir Shiels (BBC3s Junior Doctors), Rosalind Ryan (The Guardian) and Martin Rathfelder (Socialist Health).

The comedians debating the panel will be:

  • Angela Barnes, as seen on Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC3), Russell Kane’s Whistle Stop Tour (BBC Radio 2), and The Now Show (BBC Radio 4)
  • Gareth Richards, as seen on Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC3) and on tour with Frank Skinner
  • Iszi Lawrence, Creator of the Z-List Dead List podcast
