‘Action is Essential’: What We Can Do to Tackle the Climate and Nature Crisis

On 27 November, 10 of the UK’s leading experts presented the latest evidence at the Climate & Nature National Emergency Briefing in Westminster, to an audience of over 1,200 people, amongst whom were MPs, peers from the House of Lords, business leaders, church leaders, celebrities, leaders of environmental groups, members of the public and others. Local activist Viola Langley was present.
The aim was direct: to present clear, expert-led facts about the climate risks facing the UK, and, by doing that, to reset the national conversation. The resounding message was clear: impacts are accelerating, and action at every level of government, including councils, is essential.
I was lucky enough to be able to join the Briefing. The presentations were honest, shocking, revealing – but also hopeful. The climate and nature crisis is now affecting every part of British life – including food security, public health, infrastructure, and national security.

One simple but important  thing that you can do is sign the letter (National Emergency Briefing) asking the Government and all public service broadcasters to hold an urgent televised national emergency briefing for the public: https://www.nebriefing.org/open-letter-keir
